Screen Printing

Our screen printing process is a sign making technique we use for high-quality, high volume traffic signs that require custom colors. Multi-color images are realized by incorporating multiple stencils - one for each unique color.

With the ability to mix and match Pantone colors for any custom sign design, our screen printed signs can be found on many of our nation's roadways.

Digital Printing

Our digital printing process is a sign making technique used for many-colored signs with fine detailed artwork, images and photos. We use latex inks to combine the best characteristics of solvent inks and water-based inks to create the highest quality custom signs.

Protective overlay is added to outdoor digitally printed signs for increased durability.

HDPE Routing

High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) is a versatile, environmentally stabilized sheet with multiple layers of contrasting colors. As the 'go-to' sign type for the U.S. Forest Service, HDPE signs are extremely durable and made with fade and graffiti resistant material extending the life of the sign.

If you're looking for a sign that doesn't warp, rot or delaminate, HDPE signs are the perfect fit.

High Performance Reflective Sheeting Helps Improve Safety

Signs made with higher performance reflective sheeting are more visible and help improve safety. They also can save you money over the life of the sign. Signs deteriorate at different rates. Age, location, sun exposure and sheeting type all affect a sign's useful lifespan. The best measure of the cost of a sign is its life-cycle cost (i.e. the cost of the sign divided by its useful life). Factor in labor, hardware, administrative expenses and other costs that are incurred each time a sign needs replacement and the savings for longer-lasting signs gets even better.


3M™ Engineer-Grade Prismatic Sheeting

Non-metalized microprismatic lens reflective sheeting designed for production of reflective noncritical traffic control signs and commercial signs and applications that are exposed vertically in service. Applied to properly prepared sign substrates, 3M™ Engineer Grade Prismatic Sheeting provides brighter daytime and nighttime appearance than conventional beaded Engineer Grade sheeting, while significantly reducing carbon footprint. Its unique prismatic construction provides a higher level of retroreflectivity than beaded Engineer Grade sheeting.

3M™ Diamond Grade DG3 Reflective Sheeting

Highly reflective, durable, microprismatic lens sheeting with pressure sensitive adhesive. Custom Sign Art Submission & Production Requirements

TAPCO takes pride in professional production of your custom signage. To guarantee accurate and timely production we adhere to the following guidelines when accepting art files.


1) Artwork Submission

The art must be in the following formats with native extensions: ".ai", ".eps" or a true-vector* ".pdf". Please submit your artwork for our professional review. Wwe are happy to determine if your files are production ready (free of charge). Anything that we determine as unsuitable for production can be recreated at an additional fee.

* Artwork needs to be true-vector and not just a raster image embedded in the file.

2) Custom Design By TAPCO

If the original source file is unavailable, not production-ready or you are starting with a concept/sketch, our in-house design team will design the necessary files. This service will incur a separate, custom design (or re-creation) charge: which will be quoted after the initial review of the project but prior to production.

3) We Will Work With You to Get It Right

Once majority of your design is situated TAPCO will offer complimentary, minor edits as follows: strokes (line widths), wordchanges and or colors. Adding new graphics after initial approval will incur added design fees.


Why is VECTOR Art the Industry Standard?

Vectors can be scaled up or down without any loss of quality. Raster images are composed of connected dots (pixels) and vectors are images composed of connected lines. Each pixel is a tiny square, whereas vector images are defined by math, not pixels.
