BarrierGate Crashworthy Barrier

Barrier Gate Crashworthy Barrier from TAPCO NCHRP 350 Approved

Barrier Gate Crashworthy Barrier NCHRP 350 Approved

The BarrierGate is a crashworthy barrier and an automated gate in one unit. It protects motorists from the openings in concrete barriers such as those found in median crossovers. When closed, the BarrierGate meets the strict requirements of NCHRP 350. This positive barrier prevents motorists from making illegal U-turns that cause serious accidents and also eliminates the hazard of exposed barrier ends.

The BarrierGate consists of two movable steel gate halves that join at the center. The sides of the gate are constructed of three beam panels. The halves of the gate latch together with a strong pin-and-hook type connection and travel along inverted V-shaped tracks that are anchored to the ground. Opening and closing the gate is accomplished by entering a numbered code on the electronic keypad. Maintenance crews, emergency medical services and law enforcement all benefit from the quick access provided by the BarrierGate.

REACT350® Workzone Crash Attenuator

REACT 350® Workzone Crash Attenuator from TAPCO

REACT 350® Workzone Crash Attenuator from TAPCO NCHRP 350 Approved

REACT 350® Work zone is a NCHRP 350-approved, non-gating, redirective system that performs effectively with design speeds up to 70 mph. It meets TL-1 (30 mph) and TL-2 (43 mph) and TL-3 (62 mph)

Head-On Impacts. During head-on impacts, the REACT 350 Work zone crushes the reusable cylinders to absorb the energy of impact.

Redirective Capability. When impacted from the side, the REACT 350 Work zone redirects the errant vehicle back toward its original travel path without allowing gating.

Self Restoring. The REACT 350 Work zone will self-restore after most design impacts, typically regaining up to 99% of their original shape and capacity without maintenance or repair of major components.

Superior Design. Sectional design consists of energy-absorbing, reusable, "smart plastic" (HMW/HDPE) cylinders attached to a selfcontained backup, or to a new or existing concrete-mounted backup system.

Simple Installation. Installs as a single unit with minor assembly and can be moved as one when the project is completed. It can support
widths as narrow as 36 inches.

Narrow Widths for Work Zones. REACT 350 Work zone can support widths as narrow as 36 inches.

Low Lifecycle Cost. Spare parts are usually not required.

Energite III Crash Cushion System

Energite III Crash Cushion System from TAPCO

Energite III Crash Cushion System from TAPCO NCHRP 350 Approved

The Energite III System meets NCHRP 350, Test Level 3 criteria for non-redirective crash cushions when placed in appropriately designed arrays. The Energites have many advantages such as a one-piece barrel and snap-on lid. The tapered shape of the barrel allows easy stacking for transportation to the job site. Cone inserts are used to adjust sand capacities and ensure that the center of mass is at the proper height to prevent ramping. The lightest barrels are placed in the front of the array with the progressively heavier barrels placed at the back of the array. One-piece Energite barrels can be filled at off-site locations and placed intact at the job. These NCHRP 350, Test Level 3 modules can safely decelerate impacting vehicles weighing up to 4,400 lbs. traveling at 70 mph during head-on impacts.

Available to Wisconsin Customers.

QuadGuard Crash Attenuators

QuadGuard Crash Attenuators from TAPCO

QuadGuard Crash Attenuators from TAPCO NCHRP 350 Approved

The QuadGuard System is a fully approved NCHRP 350, Test Level 3 product. The QuadGuard offers redirective, non-gating performance for narrow hazards ranging in width from 2 feet to 3 feet QuadGuard consists of energy-absorbing cartridges surrounded by a framework of quad beam panels. During head on impacts, the QuadGuard telescopes to the back and crushes to absorb the energy of the impact. When impacted from the side, it safely redirects the vehicle back toward its original travel path and away from the hazard. After a typical design speed head-on hit, the system can be pulled back into place and have the cartridges and nose replaced.

The QuadGuard System can have as many bays as needed to meet the design speed or special considerations of the installation site. The QuadGuard System features QuadBeam™ fender panels that provide 30 percent higher beam strength than conventional thrie-beam.

QuadGuard HS

QuadGuard HS Crash Cushion from TAPCO

QuadGuard HS Crash Cushion from TAPCO NCHRP 350 Approved

The QuadGuard HS System is an approved NCHRP 350 product at an increased impact speed of 70 mph. The maximum test impact speed for a crash cushion in NCHRP 350 previously was 62.2 mph. The QuadGuard HS System is the first attenuator in the industry to provide this higher level of protection.

The QuadGuard HS System is a non-gating, redirective, nine-bay system that telescopes when hit head-on at speeds up to 70 mph, effectively dissipating the energy of impacting vehicles at angles of up to 20 degrees. It is designed to shield hazards as narrow as 2 feet and is 60-70 percent reusable after design impacts.

A unique feature of the QuadGuard HS System is its “Space-Frame Diaphragm”, which allows the system to perform successfully when impacted both small, lighter cars as well as high center of gravity pickup trucks during high-speed impacts.

The core of the QuadGuard HS System is the framework of crushable, energy-absorbing cartridges and QuadBeam™ fender panels that provide 30 percent higher beam strength than conventional thrie-beam.

QuadGuard 69/90 Crash Cushion

QuadGuard 69/90 Crash Cushion from TAPCO

QuadGuard 69/90 Crash Cushion from TAPCO CCHRP 350 Test Level 3 Approved
NCHRP 350 Test Level 3 Approved

The QuadGuard 69/90 is an innovative new crash cushion designed for hazards greater than 36" wide and less than 7'6" wide. The QuadGuard 69 offers protection for hazards up to 5'9" wide and the QuadGuard 90 offers protection for hazards up to 7'6" wide.

QuadGuard 69/90 shares the same technology as QuadGuard 24/30/36 and uses the same nose piece, cartridges, and fender panels. The diaphragms in the 69/90 get progressively wider as you move to the back of the unit which enables it to provide protection for wide hazards. Quad-Beam™ panels offer 30% higher beam strength than thrie beam panels which is a big advantage for side impacts. This non-gating redirective system can have as many bays as needed for a given design speed.
