TAPCO on the move!
Traffic & Parking Control Co., Inc. (TAPCO) is a third generation family owned small business aimed at manufacturing, distributing and servicing innovative products for traffic safety. TAPCO formally announces it is moving its corporate headquarters to 5100 W. Brown Deer Road in Brown Deer, WI starting on January 1st, 2009. TAPCO’s phone numbers 800.236.0112 and 262.814.7000 and web site, www.tapconet.com, will remain the same as before.

TAPCO has its current facility located at 800 Wall Street in Elm Grove, WI up for sale with Colliers and Barry Realty. With this move TAPCO is doubling its square foot capacity and will invest over one million dollars in new improvements into the facility. The move is being made in order to accommodate its growing manufacturing demands.

TAPCO was established in 1956 by Raymond Bergholz in the basement of his Wauwatosa home and now employs over 120 dedicated employees. TAPCO is known for being a “one stop” source for all traffic and safety products. Recently TAPCO introduced a line of patented products like the MUTCD (Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices) approved, solar powered and LED enhanced BlinkerSigns®. With all the additional room, “We hope to boost our nationally distributed cataloging efforts as well as providing new customer friendly services like a quick turnaround - specialty sign shop,” stated TAPCO President and co-owner John Kugel.

“We would like to personally thank The State of Wisconsin Department of Commerce, the MMAC and Village of Brown Deer for their diligent efforts to help a growing Wisconsin based business stay in Wisconsin. We will look to boost our employment immediately” Kugel stated.

TAPCO was recently named to the INC Magazines Future 5000 (PDF) list of fastest growing companies in the nation and named one of The Milwaukee Business Journals small businesses of the year.

TAPCO will take occupancy on a division by division basis starting on January 1st and hopes to be completely moved in by the spring of 2009.
