Deluxe Acorn Luminaires
Designed primarily for homes and businesses, these luminaires grace walkways and outdoor
living spaces. Ideally mounted at 5-10 feet above ground, they can be placed in strategic
locations to accent landscaping. They enhance your home’s architecture, and increase the
long–term value of your property. Choose from a variety of pole and capital styles and
accessories to design a look that is distinct and attractive.
Acorn luminaires consist of two main components: a prismatic glass optical assembly
and a capital. The globes can be mounted in either of two distinct capitals, ensuring the
appropriate transition between a luminaire and any 3" O.D. pole. Choose luminaire and
capital options on the following pages.
Optical Assembly
The optical assembly is a precisely molded, thermal resistant borosilicate glass reflector
and refractor, available with or without a decorative finial. The upper portion of this system
incorporates a series of reflecting prisms that redirect the upward light into the controlling
refractor while allowing a soft uplight component to define the traditional acorn shape of
the luminaire. The lower portion uses precisely molded refracting prisms to control the
distribution of light in order to maximize uniformity. Two unique optical assemblies are
available, designed for either asymmetric or symmetric lighting distribution.
Trim Options
A variety of decorative trim options such as finials and decorative bands allow this
distinctive fixture to blend with any site architecture.
Capital Options
The “Leaf” style capital is primarily installed in commercial applications and can mate with
a variety of decorative poles or wall mounts designed to enhance any given landscape. The
Leaf capital contains the ballast and other electrical components. The housing is cast of
aluminum alloy with a raised oak leaf pattern and is designed to flow gracefully from a 3"
diameter decorative post. The housing will be secured to the post by three set screws.
The “Simple” style housing is a smooth cylindrical design, and is used extensively in
the residential marketplace. The Simple Capital will accommodate only the 120V, 200W
incandescent lamp mounted on a 3" pole shaft with no tenon. It can be paired with an
ornamental, decorative surface mount pole or less ornate simple direct burial post; or match
it with one of three wall mounts, shown on page 304.
The capitals are finished with polyester powder paint, applied after a seven-stage
pretreatment process to ensure maximum durability. Several trim color choices are
available, or choose your own custom color at an additional cost. The luminaire is U.L.
listed as suitable for wet locations at a maximum 104ºF ambient temperature.
