Increases sign conspicuity, critical for limited sight distances
Traffic safety can be compromised by several
conditions, including vertical and horizontal curves,
obstructions such as trees and buildings, and even
ambient light sources such as neon signs and other
commercial lighting. BlinkerSigns® may be installed any place where increased sign conspicuity is beneficial. If desired, they may be replaced with conventional
signage when the public becomes acclimated to the
new condition. Hard-wired models are available for
applications wherever warranted, such as inside parking ramps or when used in conjunction with other hard-wired traffic control devices.
Alerts aging and inattentive drivers sooner than conventional signage
The increasing proportion of aging driving population is a major concern of traffic officials. Studies show that as drivers age, their visual acuity declines.
