Wisconsin's controversial concealed carry law goes into effect Tuesday, and that has a lot of private businesses and local governments coming up with their own rules.

Many are putting signs up saying "no weapons," and one company that makes those signs has been busy with last minute orders!

"Our customer is anybody with a parking lot, which is everybody," Andy Bergholz, VP of Sales at TAPCO said.

TAPCO creates the signs that line our streets, telling drivers to stop or slow down. Now, the signs drying at TAPCO are for those who carry a concealed firearm.

"People egan to inquire a little bit probably earlier in the year," Bergholz said.

By Tuesday, buildings that want to ban hidden weapons must put a sign in their window, or in their parking lot. TAPCO has made thousands of signs lately - many of them for new clients.

"There's a range from the state level, to municipalities, as well as private businesses," Bergholz said.

Signs are already posted in some local parks and libraries, and people are beginning to take notice.

Whitefish Bay was among the first to order the signs from TAPCO, and among the first of the municipalities to ban firearms in their buildings. There are signs at the village hall, fire department, police department and several other locations around the village.

"I'm glad to see that people have the opportunity to put up signs and keep guns out," Jay Raymond from Whitefish Bay said.
