TAPCO Open House/Training Showcase a Tremendous Success
TAPCO (Traffic & Parking
Control Co., Inc.) recently celebrated their new home at 5100 W. Brown Deer Rd.
with a Training Showcase and Open House. The festivities began last Thursday
July, 9th with a ribbon cutting ceremony, attended by Scott Walker, Milwaukee
County Executive and Brown Deer Village President Carl Krueger Brown along with
many customers, vendors and friends. TAPCO manufactures and distributes
thousands of traffic and parking control products including their patented
BlinkerSigns and often trains municipal, DOT and contractor employees in the use
of new and sophisticated products now being used in the industry. The training
showcase had seminars running from 8:00am through 3:00pm each day and all
sessions were recorded for later use and review. With many presenters that
included Ernest “Mr. MUTCD” Huckaby discussing recent FHWA actions along with
upcoming regulations for breakaway sign supports the entire event was a terrific
success.
Seminar topics included:
Retroreflectivity (view video),
Video Detection (view video), Energy Saving Light Fixtures
(view video),
Battery Back-Up for Signals, Parking & Security Systems (view video),
Solar Powered & Wireless Operated Traffic Devices (view video),
New Breakaway Standards (view video), Video Analysis, Wireless
Detection, TAPCO’s new SignIt software, LED Lighting Options, Stimulus Package
and how it effects WIS DOT roads, Microwave Detection, Parking Access & Revenue
Control In The Future.
TAPCO would like to thank all of the presenters for helping to
make this a great event. Due to tremendous response, TAPCO intends to continue
the tradition of training current and future users in this new world of
sophisticated traffic and parking control systems.
