They’re so bright, BlinkerSigns® command attention all day and all night
TAPCO uses the latest and brightest LEDs (Light-Emitting Diodes) available. We named them Day-Viz™ LEDs because they are visible even in the brightest daylight. They are so bright (100 times brighter than our last generation) that we utilize circuitry to automatically dim the LEDs when they flash at night, so they don’t ‘wash out’ the sign message.

Solar BlinkerSigns® are self-powered, independent of power outages
BlinkerSigns® are self-contained, self-powered devices that operate on solar energy. Whereas traffic signals and signal beacons can become inoperative during a power outage, BlinkerSigns® keep flashing, remaining a viable traffic control device.

Increases sign conspicuity, critical for limited sight distances
Traffic safety can be compromised by several conditions, including vertical and horizontal curves, obstructions such as trees and buildings, and even ambient light sources such as neon signs and other commercial light sources. BlinkerSigns® may be installed anyplace where increased sign conspicuity is beneficial. If desired, they may be replaced with conventional signage when the public becomes acclimated to the new condition. Hard-wired models are available for applications wherever warranted, such as inside parking ramps or when used in conjunction with other hard-wired traffic control devices.

Alerts aging and inattentive drivers sooner than conventional signage
The increasing proportion of aging driving population is a major concern of traffic officials. Studies show that as drivers age, their visual acuity declines. BlinkerSigns® counteract the lessened ability to recognize traffic sign messages. BlinkerSigns® also combat driver inattention due to cell phones and other distractions.

BlinkerSigns® operate on their own power, so you achieve energy savings over using signal heads or traffic signals. BlinkerSigns® are designed to run without any sun for 2 weeks or more, and can run 24/7 under even the worst weather conditions.

BlinkerSigns® are delivered to you ready to be installed on any sign post. Everything you need is attached to the sign. They are easily installed on any sign post or signal pole without the costs associated with installing electrical service or a signal box to the installation site. The long life and low energy requirements of LEDs, combined with the costs savings of electric installation and maintenance can save you thousands of dollars.

BlinkerSigns® are Smart – Real Smart They can be integrated with an ITS (Intelligent Transportation System) or operate as a stand-alone ITS. BlinkerSigns® can be synchronized with each other, and are programmable to work with solar time clocks, push-buttons and motion (vehicle) detectors using solar and wireless radio signal technology.
